I’m amazed that every time I sit down to write one of these figure profiles, I’m flooded with memories that have been laying dormant in the back of my head somewhere. And tonight’s Seventh entry into the FP series brings back some very fond memories of my youth in Van Nuys CA. I should probably mention that before I became a full blown GI Joe junky, I played with a plethora of toy lines including but not limited to Hasbro’s other giant toy line- Transformers, which I still very much to this day.I had a pretty decent collection of mostly mini bots like Bumble Bee, Sea Spay, Warpath, Cliff Jumper and the like because that’s all I my allowance would afford me.
After I discovered GI Joe, I remember being determined to get as many figures as possible and to that end I became somewhat of a school yard hustler as I discovered that I could take smaller TF’s to school and trade for GI Joes from sucke…er, I mean other kids. Now you’re probably wondering “what’s all this got to do with the Figure Profile?” Well I’m glad you asked true believers (can I even type that without owing Stan Lee a nickel?) because it was through one of these illicit school yard trades that I came to have good ol’ Doc here. To be more specific, I traded Cosmos, the little chunky UFO for Doc and a few other Joes. See how that all tied together nicely?
This figure was purchased on EBay and came complete with file card and all accessories. Touched up his hair a little bit with Tamiya paints and he is ready to join his GI Joe brothers and sisters on the shelf. Enjoy the pics and I’ll be back soon enough with yet another installment of Figure Profile, C’ya!
