Welcome back! I tend to throw around the phrase “I loved this figure when I was a kid!” a lot and to a degree, I’m not lying or exaggerating when I say that. There are very few Joes that I didn’t like and sure there are GI Joe team members that I liked above others but Beachhead was at the very top of the ” I love this figure” heap. This character always stood out to me on a visual level because of the magazines on his chest rig, his balaclava and the color combination of the greens, browns and blacks – the figure as a whole is quite memorable. But beyond that, Beachhead is simply a baddass. He’s a no holds barred, loud, balls to the wall, “shoot first, ask questions later” kinda guy and to a kid, that’s cool!
Beachhead here was picked up on Ebay, which has to date become my only source of figures (I’ll touch upon this in an editorial later) He came complete, with only slight paint wear, tight joints, and free of rusty screws (whew!) and I love that his Ranger painted patch is still perfectly intact. Di the standard buff and shine on him and he turned out great just like all the figures so far.I’m going to circle back around to beachhead’s paint in a bit as my local hobby shop where I buy my paints were out the particular shade of grey that I needed.
And there you have it. Not a big profile to Beachhead as there were really no major issues with him, so a short profile is a good profile. See ya next week!
